LIBRARY MOMENTS
What does your local library mean to you? We want to hear from you!
We’re inviting everyone to share their thoughts on how libraries have influenced their life. In the near future, be on the lookout for print and radio spots asking: What does your local library mean to you? Friends of the Kentville Library in cooperation with The Kings County Advertiser and K-Rock 89.3 are teaming up to bring you Library Moments, to inspire you to be thinking about this exciting community legacy project.
Because we believe that YOUR voice should be part of the process, we invite you to add a sentence (or several) telling us what your local library means to you.

Growing up in Bolivia, South America as the son of missionary parents, it was the lack of library facilities which first made its impression on me. An avid reader, it was almost impossible to get English books to read in Bolivia. They had to be shipped by parcel from overseas, taking many months and costing many dollars. When I returned to Canada and walked into my first Library I was overwhelmed.
Books have been my friends. They have comforted me, challenged me, educated me, made me laugh and made me cry. Access to books, good quality books, should not be dependent upon income levels. Any society which aspires to justice and to being progressive must support its public library system.
The proposed new Library for Kentville will be a jewel in the community, providing reading material, computer access, and a meeting place for young and old. It will make this great town even greater!
